Trump Media and Technology Group Corp. has confirmed that its Bitcoin holdings are now worth $2 billion, making up a significant portion of its liquid assets. Amid the announcement, DJT rallied by over 6% while the top cryptocurrency has recorded an uptick amid new institutional interest.
Trump Media Racks Up $2 Billion In Bitcoin
According to a press release, the Trump Media and Technology Group has disclosed the value of Bitcoins held on its balance sheet. According to the official statement, the parent company of Truth Social and Truth.Fi holds $2 billion worth of Bitcoin at current prices.
Trump Media revealed that apart from the bitcoins on its balance sheet, it also holds bitcoin-related securities, but the statement did not disclose their valuation. However, its Bitcoin holdings make up two-thirds of Trump Media’s liquid assets, with the company revealing plans to pursue a Bitcoin strategy.
Currently, $300 million has been earmarked toward an “options acquisition strategy for bitcoin-related strategies.” Per the report, market conditions will determine if the options will be converted into spot Bitcoin.
Previously, an S-3 filing hinted that Trump Media is raising capital for probable Bitcoin purchases.
